A Tang Dynasty Poem of Hope and Renewal

This framed artwork features two celebrated lines from a classic poem by Tang Dynasty poet Liu Yuxi:

沉舟侧畔千帆过，病树前头万木春。

A thousand sails pass by the sunken ship; ten thousand trees flourish in spring ahead of the withered tree.

The verses offer a profound reflection on the flow of life and nature — reminding us that setbacks are temporary, new vitality is always emerging, and hope remains endless.

For this artwork, artist Niohe has written the original Chinese calligraphy by hand in expressive black ink, preserving the authentic brush character, rhythm, and movement. The handwritten original has been reproduced in high resolution as a fine art print for everyday inspirational display.

Traditional Calligraphy, Ready for Modern Living

The warm, parchment-textured tea-brown background and delicate black calligraphy create a contemplative and grounding aesthetic. Framed and ready to display, the artwork serves as an encouraging presence in a study, office, living room, or personal space.

It also makes a deeply meaningful gift for friends, family, or colleagues navigating life transitions, career changes, or new beginnings — sharing timeless words of resilience and hope.
