A Tang Dynasty Farewell Poem of Courage and Confidence

This framed artwork features two celebrated lines from Farewell to Dong Da (Bie Dong Da) by the renowned Tang Dynasty poet Gao Shi:

莫愁前路无知己，天下谁人不识君。

Do not fear the road ahead even when no friend is near; the world will know the person you are.

Unlike traditional melancholic farewell poetry, these lines resonate with spirited optimism, profound trust, and powerful encouragement — reminding us to step forward into new horizons with unwavering self-belief.

For this artwork, artist Niohe has written the original Chinese calligraphy by hand in expressive red ink, preserving the vibrant character, rhythm, and fluid stroke movement of the brush. The handwritten original has been reproduced in high resolution as a fine art print for everyday motivational display.

Traditional Calligraphy, Ready for Modern Living

The warm textured cream paper background and striking red calligraphy create an uplifting, sophisticated composition framed in dark wood tones. Framed and ready to display, the artwork serves as an empowering presence in an office, study, hallway, or personal workspace.

It makes an exceptionally meaningful farewell gift, career change present, graduation gift, or housewarming gesture for someone embarking on a new life chapter — sharing timeless words of faith, strength, and mutual respect.
